Chris Backley is a world-traveling firefighter paramedic writer.

His favorite topics are bliss in a wired world, distant lands, and the modern man, which conveniently complement each other. He served as a paramedic in New Haven, Connecticut and currently in Los Angeles County where he also works as a freelance writer.

His writing has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Ask Men, Thought Catalog, The LAist, Medium, and the health + fitness website Chalkboard Mag. He held a weekly column on dating in Los Angeles on HowAboutWe and his work can also be seen in the Thought Catalog compilation book Tinder: A Lust Story.

He's finalizing a trilogy of cowboy noir novels that he wrote as a three-time NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) champion. He currently lives in downtown Los Angeles but plans on moving to France and retiring in Wyoming.
